BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the China Development Bank signed an agreement to attract a credit line in the amount of 1.18 billion yuan ($167.83 million), Trend reports with reference to the Uzbek Bank for Foreign Economic Activity.
According to the information, the credit line will be used to finance an infrastructure project in the field of transport for the purchase of passenger buses and electric buses.
The investment project is being implemented in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on measures to reform the public transport system for the development of transport infrastructure provided for in the reform program "Development Strategies of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026".
Meanwhile, the successful implementation of such a large-scale project will ensure the improvement of transport services to the population, the expansion of the route network of public transport, and the meeting of the needs of the population in passenger transportation, as well as the renewal of the rolling stock fleet with advanced and environmentally friendly buses.
