BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. The bilateral trade indicators between Uzbekistan and Singapore have witnessed a remarkable surge since the beginning of the year, with Singapore now counted among the largest investors in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.

During the talks between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Singapore Halimah Yacob, who is on a visit to Uzbekistan, it was noted that several projects in industries such as chemicals, textiles, transportation and logistics, urban development, educational services, and privatization are currently in active implementation, with a total investment value of $3.8 billion.

These projects involve renowned Singaporean companies, including Indorama, Meinhardt Group, Franklin Templeton, Enercon, PSA, and Changi Airport.

The sides also discussed the prospects for further enhancing economic partnership between the two countries. There is a strong belief that the outcomes of the Uzbekistan-Singapore Business Forum, which is scheduled to be held within President Yacob's visit, would contribute to expanding investment cooperation with leading companies in sectors such as trade, logistics, innovation, energy, and healthcare.
