BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 26. Over 23.99 billion kWh of electricity was produced in Uzbekistan from January through April this year, Trend reports.
The volume of electricity production in the country at the specified time is 3.9 percent less than in the same period last year (24.98 billion kWh), the latest statistical data reveals.
The breakdown of electricity generation by month shows that the growth rate of production in January and March decreased by 2 percent and 1.7 percent, respectively, and in February and April increased by 2.3 percent and 5.4 percent, respectively.
Electricity generation in Uzbekistan amounted to 74.3 billion kWh in 2022, which is 4.2 percent more than in 2021 (71.3 billion kWh).
The country's authorities pay great attention to the development of the energy sector, in particular, Uzbekistan has embarked on major reforms of the energy sector to create an effective regulatory regime, improve the security of energy supply and expand the use of renewable energy sources.
