BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan held talks with representatives of Japanese Morinaga Milk Industry Co. Ltd. headed by General Manager Takashi Takeda in order to attract the company to the country's market, Trend reports.
During the negotiations, General Manager Takashi Takeda was familiarized with the development of the consumer market of dairy products of Uzbekistan, the procedure for importing dairy products to the republic, demographic data, investment potential and export opportunities of the country, a wide range of dairy products produced by domestic producers, as well as imported.
In turn, Takashi spoke about the company's international activities in Indonesia, Singapore, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Malaysia, where production and sales of products are carried out, which accounts for 9 percent of the company's turnover.
He also noted that, taking into account the demographic growth of Uzbekistan, he sees a large potential market for the company's dairy products.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on specific areas of mutual cooperation.
Morinaga Milk – specializes in the manufacturing of dairy products, beverages, sweets, confectionery and infant formula.
The company's turnover is $4 billion, including the sale of healthy food products – 24 percent, dairy products – 36 percent, and products containing bifidobacteria and lactoferrin – 16 percent.
