TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 30. China has started railroad cargo transportation from Zhangjiakou to Uzbekistan. The first shipment, consisting of car components, household appliances and textiles, left for the Uzbek capital on August 29, Trend reports.

According to information provided by China Railway Beijing Group Co. Ltd, the train is expected to reach Tashkent in about 15 days. The route passes through the land port of Khorgos in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

In early June, China already sent the first test train along the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan transport corridor, including $2 million worth of goods.

Other logistics projects aimed at strengthening ties between China and Central Asian countries include the Langfang - Kashgar - Irkeshtam - Osh - Tashkent multimodal corridor, which was successfully launched in early July.

The turnover of goods between Uzbekistan and China amounted to $6 billion from January through July 2023, demonstrating an annual growth rate of 30 percent.
