Uzbekistan sees increase in export volumes of goods, services

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 22. The volume of exports of goods and services in Uzbekistan amounted to $10.7 billion from January through August, which is an increase of 9.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.

Goods occupy 79.1 percent of the total share of exports, which include 16.8 percent of industrial goods, 7.1 percent of food and live animals, and 5.2 percent of various finished products.

Uzbekistan’s main partners in the export of goods and services in foreign trade turnover through the first 8 months of 2023 were Russia, China, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, with the total share of Uzbekistan’s exports reaching 42.8 percent.

The volume of exports of services from January through August 2023 amounted to $3.4 billion, which comprises 20.9 percent of the total volume of trade exports of the country and is 30.2 percent more compared to the same period in 2022.

Transport services amount to 4.5 percent, making up the largest share of Uzbekistan’s service exports, followed by travel (40.8 percent), telecommunications, computer and information services (6.5 percent), and other business services (3.5 percent).

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s trade turnover amounted to $40 billion from January through August 2023, which is 23.2 percent ($7.5 billion) more compared to the same period last year. Of these, the volume of exports amounted to $16.4 billion, an increase of 27.8 percent compared to 2022 calculations.
