TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 26. Chinese BYD automobile concern will launch the assembly of hybrids and electric vehicles in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region, Trend reports.

The news followed a recent meeting between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and BYD’s representatives.

During the meeting, the parties discussed practical aspects of expanding the company's activities in Uzbekistan, in particular, the issues of launching the production of hybrid and electric cars in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region with an increase in capacity up to 300,000 cars at subsequent stages.

Special attention was paid to the projects of localization of components and spare parts to reduce the cost of production, as well as the organization of export of cars to third country markets.
