TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 2. Uzbekistan, Qatar’s Nebras Power investment company reached an agreement on the adoption of a long-term partnership program for the development of green energy projects, Trend reports.
The news followed a recent meeting between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chairman of the Board of Nebras Power Muhammad Al-Hajri in Qatar’s Doha.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the planned projects for creating energy storage systems with a capacity of 600 MW in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region and the launch of wind generation with a capacity of 1 GW in Uzbekistan’s Karakalpakstan region.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan and Qatar have signed several investment agreements in the fields of the food industry, green energy, and infrastructure development in September 2023 as a result of the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and representatives of leading Qatari investment companies.
Furthermore, significant agreements with Saudi Arabia, France, Hungary, Singapore, Egypt, Germany, China, Italy, and other nations have been made over the previous two years at high-level discussions.
Compared to last year, when only $40 million in investments came from these nations, $450 million were attracted this year.
