Uzbekistan notes year-on-year progress in commerce co-op with Poland - EU source

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Poland stood at 336.6 million euros from January through July of 2023, a source at Eurostat, the statistical agency of the European Union, told Trend.

This figure represents a significant increase of 1.7 times or 71.8 percent compared to the same period in 2022, which witnessed a trade turnover of 195.93 million euros. Furthermore, the total trade volume in the first seven months of 2023 is 2.8 times higher than that of the same period in 2021, which was at 119.69 million euros.

As per Eurostat, Uzbekistan's imports from Poland during this period amounted to 242.47 million euros, indicating a significant increase of 84.04 percent compared to the imports during the initial seven months of 2022, which were at 131.75 million euros. Import figures for 2023 surpass those of 2021 by 2.9 times.

The volume of exports from Uzbekistan to Poland also experienced growth. Uzbekistan exported goods worth 94.13 million euros, which is 46.67 percent higher than the 64.18 million euros worth of goods exported in the corresponding period of 2022 and a substantial 76 percent increase compared to the volume of exports to Poland in 2021.

In a broader context, the total trade volume between Uzbekistan and the European Union member states from January through July 2023 exceeded 2.95 billion euros.

Additionally, the overall trade volume between Uzbekistan and EU countries in 2022 amounted to 4.61 billion euros, reflecting a 41 percent increase when compared to the 2.77 billion euros recorded in 2021.
