TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 4. Uzbekistan’s ADM Jizzakh automobile cluster plans the construction of a new assembly plant for the production of electric vehicles and hybrid car models, Trend reports.
As per ADM Jizzakh, preparatory work on the construction of this facility has already begun at the site, and the construction itself will begin in 2024.
The capacity of the new plant is set to be 50,000 cars per year, with the possibility of increasing the volumes to 100,000 in the future.
In the initial stage of its operation, the new plant is said to create about 1,200 jobs, attracting specialists from Uzbekistan’s regions of Jizzakh, Syrdarya, and Samarkand.
Moreover, with the launch of projects, the number of jobs will increase by 3.5 times.
Meanwhile, about $310 million will be invested in the transformation of the ADM Jizzakh automobile plant into a full-fledged automobile cluster in the Jizzakh Free Economic Zone (FEZ).
The facility is set to be ready by March 2024 and will produce about 100,000 cars a year, with a goal to increase the capacity of car production to 300,000 per year by 2030.
Since the start of its operation in March 2021, ADM Jizzakh has produced over 33,000 cars worth 7.3 trillion soums ($600.6 million).
