TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 20. Russian Sinara Transport Machines is set to supply Uzbekistan with six locomotives in 2024, Trend reports.
The announcement was made during a meeting between Governor of the Russian Sverdlovsk area Yevgeny Kuyvashev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, and a delegation of CIS heads of government.
Kuyvashev praised the progress of bilateral relations with Uzbekistan during the meeting.
"Two years ago, we signed contract with Uzbekistan for supply of diesel locomotives, first locomotives have already been delivered, and next delivery of six more locomotives is scheduled for next year," he went on to say.
According to the official, Sinara Transport equipment professionals have given training sessions for personnel in Uzbekistan on the operation and maintenance of the equipment. In addition, the business intends to open warranty and after-sales service centers in 2024, ensuring the locomotives' optimal operation and durability.

As per data provided by Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee, the recorded number comprises 15.9 percent of the total foreign investments, thus making Russia the top second country among those investing in Uzbekistan.
As per the statistics agency, investments and loans from the Russian Federation constituted 20.3 percent of the total foreign investments in the country in 2022, which translates to roughly $2 billion, standing as the biggest figure among all investing nations.
