Uzbekistan names its largest taxpayers since 2023-start

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 29. The number of taxpayers in Uzbekistan amounted to 1,631 from January through November of 2023, Trend reports.

As per Uzbekistan’s State Tax Committee, the taxpayers collectively contributed 87.4 trillion Uzbek soums ($7 billion) in tax revenues within the first 11 months of the current year.

Within this group, the top 10 major taxpayers affiliated with the state have contributed 47.3 trillion soums ($3.8 billion), with Uzbekistan’s Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine leading the pack by contributing 22.3 trillion soums ($1.8 billion), reflecting the highest tax payment rate.

In the private sector, the top 10 major taxpayers have contributed 6.1 trillion soums ($494 million). The leader in this category is UZ BAT Joint Venture JSC, making a substantial contribution of about 2.2 trillion soums ($178 million).

Meanwhile, as the data by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance shows, the state budget revenues amounted to 38.1 trillion soums ($3.1 billion) since the start of 2023, two-thirds of which came from tax payments.

The increased expenditures, exceeding 50 trillion soums ($4 billion), were mainly the result of an increase in VAT refund by 1.4 trillion soums ($115.1 million).
