TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 20. Uzbekistan discussed the issues and problems related to the implementation of roadmaps in cooperation with Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Trend reports.
The discussion took place at a meeting where the Uzbek Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism heard reports of Uzbekistan's ambassadors to Türkiye and Azerbaijan on February 19.
The meeting was attended by senators, deputies of local councils of people's deputies, heads of specialized ministries and departments, state companies, representatives of local executive authorities and mass media.
The hearings have been organized within the framework of establishing parliamentary control over the implementation of tasks and instructions formed on the basis of in-depth analysis during the video conference call held under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan's president on January 18 this year.
The main focus of the discussion was to ensure timely and quality implementation of the draft roadmaps adopted as a result of the summit visits.
The sides noted that there are a number of problems in the realization of the Road Map adopted as a result of the summit visit.
In particular, 4 out of 87 projects specified in the Road Map worth $72 million are being implemented with a delay. The Ministry of Agriculture is also slowly carrying out practical work on 8 investment projects.
The members of parliament expressed their critical comments on the low efficiency and poor feedback of industry departments and companies, as well as regional administrations in consideration of proposals and appeals of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan on the implementation of investment projects and organization of bilateral meetings. It was noted that it is obligatory to coordinate actions with embassies of Uzbekistan.
The heads of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan have been given detailed recommendations and specific tasks to improve the efficiency of their activities.
Following the results of the meeting, the relevant decisions of the Senate Committee of Uzbek Parliament were adopted.
