TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 26. Uzbekistan's large enterprises produced 627,900 tons of cement in January 2024, Trend reports.
According to preliminary data of Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, the production volume increased 2.3 times year-on-year.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's large enterprises produced more than 11.93 million tons of cement from January through December 2023.
Furthermore, in September 2023, a large-scale project for the production of cement worth 3.8 trillion Uzbek soums ($312.6 million) was launched in Uzbekistan's Samarkand with the assistance of CHINA Energy International Group.
The new factory, which will make M-400 and M-500 Portland cement with a daily output capacity of 7,500 tons, or 3 million tons per year, is believed to have created 500 new employment opportunities.
A technological line with the largest cement kiln in Uzbekistan has been installed at a fully automated production facility. Coal is used as fuel at the plant, which makes it possible to increase energy efficiency by installing energy-saving equipment for lower fuel consumption and more production.
