Uzbekistan's Khorezm intends to boost volume of yarn processing

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 1. Uzbekistan intends to increase the volume of yarn processing up to 60 percent in Khorezm region, as it was announced during the meeting on priority tasks of socio-economic development of the region, Trend reports.

Previously, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized with the presentation of investment projects planned for implementation in the Khorezm region.

At the presentation, information was presented on 18 projects with a total value of more than $660 million; in general, a package of investment projects worth $1.5 billion was formed for the region.

In this regard, the importance of attracting $280 million of investment to the region this year was noted.

Currently, only 30 percent of yarn produced in the region is processed.

Meanwhile, dozens of projects in such sectors as machine building, urban development, chemistry, textile production, construction materials, medicine, food industry are being formed for the region together with foreign investors.

In particular, projects are being developed to produce electric trucks, nickel sulfate for batteries, architectural glass, glass containers, construction materials, paint and fabrics.
