TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 5. Uzbekistan and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) discussed the launch of a new project, "Roadmap for Sustainable Investment Policy Reform" (RSIPR), Trend reports.
The talks took place during a meeting between Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov and a delegation of the OECD headed by the head of the Department of Investment Stephen Thomsen.
The project will be based on the OECD Investment Policy Reviews, which have been used in more than 30 countries on all continents as a tool for assessing the investment climate, as well as for developing and implementing programs to improve it.
In the course of the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects of intensifying further cooperation in improving legislation in the field of investment.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan and the Arab Coordination Group have discussed the implementation of current joint projects in the economy.
A total of 20 new promising projects were presented by ministries and agencies in the spheres of transportation, logistics, tourism, water supply, health care, education, and support of small and medium-sized business projects.
