TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 6. The Turkish El Taban company launches an investment project in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.

This was announced at a meeting between the chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat Association Fakhriddin Boboev and the heads of the Turkish El Taban company Soner Ergul and the Uzbek San+One company Shukhrat Tuichiev.

The discussions focused on a new investment project in the leather and footwear industry, providing for the production of a new generation of shoe soles.

For more efficient organization of work and acceleration of launching this project, the meeting was also attended by representatives of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Intergovernmental Commission with Türkiye and ATB Xalq Bank.

The meeting held within the walls of the association is a logical continuation of the business mission of Uzcharmsanoat and leather and footwear enterprises to Türkiye, organized in February this year. The parties have already started the practical realization of the agreements reached less than a month ago. Now they are actively working on obtaining land for the construction of the new plant as well as on crediting the project.

Representatives of the government and the commercial bank studied in detail the investment project, the stages of its realization, the project's cost, and the economic benefits for the country.

According to preliminary calculations, the cost of the project is estimated at $2.1 million. Dozens of new jobs will be created in the Tashkent region with its realization. Mastering the production of new types of shoe soles in Uzbekistan will also reduce the cost of footwear. The products planned for manufacture in the new plant will not only cover the needs of the Uzbek market but will also be exported to Türkiye and Europe.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan will open a small industrial zone in the field of leather and fur production in Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region, which will unite 26 projects.
