TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 13. The number of enterprises and organizations operating in Uzbekistan amounted to 473,320 as of March 1, 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that this figure is less than 22,376 year-on-year.
A significant share of enterprises in economic activity distribution (share in total number) falls on the sectors of trade: 32.5 percent (153,795), industry: 14.1 percent (66,775), agriculture, forestry, and fishery: 7.5 percent (35,733), and construction: 7.1 percent (33,768).
Regionally, the city of Tashkent accounts for 21.1 percent (99.946), the Tashkent region for 9.2 percent (43.584), the Samarkand region for 9 percent (42.578), the Ferghana region for 8.3 percent (39.493), and the Kashkadarya region for 6.7 percent (31.488).
Of the number of enterprises and organizations operating in the country, small enterprises and microfirms account for 405,240.
In addition, 692,727 enterprises and organizations were registered as of March 1, and the growth rate amounted to 107.9 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the number of newly established enterprises and organizations in Uzbekistan amounted to 6,160 in January 2024. The percentage of newly established enterprises and organizations in the total number of operating ones was 1.3 percent.
