TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 28. Uzbekistan significantly reduced its natural gas exports to China in February this year, Trend reports.
As per data of General Administration of Customs of China, Uzbek gas supplies to China more than halved from $38.7 million to $18.6 million last month.
Earlier in 2023, Uzbekistan exported $563.5 million worth of natural gas to China. This figure is 47.4 percent lower year-on-year.
Uzbekistan's monthly gas shipments to China reached $54.5 million in December, a decrease of less than 1 percent from November.
Meanwhile, according to the Uzbek Statistics Agency, the country's natural gas exports totaled $26.7 million from January through February 2024, which is 3.6 times higher year-on-year.
In addition, the country's foreign gas exports totaled $529.9 million in 2023, which is 42.7 percent less year-on-year.
