Uzbek metallurgical industry's production volume revealed

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 3. The volume of the metallurgical industry's production amounted to 20.5 trillion soums ($1.62 billion) from January through February 2024, Trend reports.

As per data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, the index of physical volume increased by 12.1 percent, and the share of the metallurgical industry reached 27.3 percent.

The share of other non-metallic mineral products reached 3.9 percent, and the index of physical volume of production grew by 19.8 percent. The volume of production amounted to 2.9 trillion soums ($229.3 million) during this period.

Meanwhile, according to Deputy Chief Engineer of Uzbekistan's Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) Abdukakhhor Sainazarov, AMMC plans to increase its production volume in 2024.

AMMC plans to increase the manufacture of industrial products to 32.2 trillion soums ($2.5 billion), implement investment projects worth $2,1 billion, and manufacture localized products worth 1 trillion soums ($79.2 million).

In addition, Uzbekistan's enterprises manufactured industrial products worth 96.9 trillion soums ($7.7 billion) from January through February 2024.
