TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 15. The number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan amounted to 47.1 million from January through February 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from Central Bank of Uzbekistan (CBU), this figure has increased by 31.9 percent year-on-year (35.7 million cards issued).
Uzbekistan’s Xalq Bank by issuing 10.9 million bank cards has become the leader. Ipotekabank ranks second with 3.8 million bank cards followed by Uzbekistan's National bank (3.5 million bank cards).
The CBU notes that the smallest number of bank cards issued into circulation was registered in Uzbekistan’s Yangi bank – 104, while Apex bank did not issue any bank cards.
Meanwhile, a total of 430,264 payment terminals were installed in Uzbekistan from January through February 2024. The volume of revenues through payment terminals reached 47.5 trillion soums ($3.7 billion) during this period. At the same time, the number of of installed ATMs and infokiosks in the country totaled 26,917 from January through February 2024.
