TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 29. According to preliminary data, Uzbekistan's enterprises manufactured industrial products worth 166.4 trillion soums ($13.1 billion) in the first quarter of 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that this figure is 27 percent higher year-on-year (131 trillion soums, or $10.3 billion in January–March 2024).
In the structure of production, the largest specific weight falls on the enterprises of the manufacturing industry, the output of which amounted to 132.4 trillion soums ($10.4 billion). The mining and quarrying industry ranks second with a production volume worth 16.8 trillion soums ($1.3 billion).
Among the country’s regions, the city of Tashkent accounts for the largest volume in the total volume of industrial production: 31.2 trillion soums ($2.4 billion), the Navoi region: 28.6 trillion soums ($2.2 billion), and the and the Tashkent region: 25.4 trillion soums ($2 billion).
Meanwhile, as per preliminary data, Uzbek enterprises manufactured 655.8 trillion soums ($52.4 billion) worth of industrial products in 2023.
The largest volume of industrial output was produced in the city of Tashkent (123.6 trillion soums, or $9.8 billion) in 2023. The Tashkent region ranks second (105.7 trillion soums, or $8.4 billion), followed by the Navoi region (101.5 trillion soums, or $8.1 billion).
