TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 23. Road freight transportation in Uzbekistan amounted to 3.3 million tons from January through March 2024, Trend reports.
According to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, this figure has increased by 10 percent compared to the same period last year (3 million tons in January–March 2023).
The volume of export cargo increased to 960,000 million tons from January through March 2024, which is more than 20 percent year-on-year (800,000 tons in January–March 2023).
The imports of cargo totaled 1.8 million tons during this period. This indicator shows a 5.8 percent growth year-on-year (1.7 million tons in January–March 2023).
Uzbekistan's road transit cargo amounted to 509,000 tons from January through March 2024, which is more than 3.2 percent compared to the same period the previous year (493,000 tons in January–March 2023).
Meanwhile, the total volume of cargo transportation in Uzbekistan amounted to 14.7 million tons from January through March 2024.
