TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 31. Uzbekistan imported natural and artificial gas worth $694.9 million in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 146.5 percent year-on-year ($281.9 million in 2022).
Gas imports to Uzbekistan peaked in September 2023 in the amount of $286.1 million, while the lowest value was recorded in January with $20,000.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s trade turnover of natural and artificial gas reached $515.1 million from January through April 2024. This figure indicates an increase of 137.3 percent compared to the same period last year ($217 million in January–April 2023).
Uzbekistan’s exports amounted to $52.3 million from January through April 2024, while the imports of natural and artificial gas totaled $462.8 million during this period.
