Uzbekistan's mining combine fulfills its production forecasts

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 6. Uzbekistan's Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) fulfilled all production indicators by 116.1 percent from January through May 2024, Trend reports.

According to the AMMC, the prediction for ore mining at the Kalmakyr mine was 101.5 percent met, with a significant growth rate of +109.1 percent.

Copper raw material processing grew by 103.5 percent, with Copper Processing Plant-2 meeting 103.5 percent of the target.

Sulfuric acid production experienced a growth rate of +100.5 percent during this period.

The Handiza ore mining department successfully fulfilled tasks related to polymetallic ore extraction (101.3 percent), processing (100.6 percent), and zinc concentrate zinc content (106.4 percent).

In addition, the forecast indicators for the production of copper sulfate (100 percent), technical selenium (100 percent), tellurium (100 percent), ammonium perrenate (104.9 percent), palladium powder (108.9 percent), and molybdenum trioxide (105.8 percent) were met.

Meanwhile, the volume of the metallurgical industry's production in Uzbekistan amounted to 45.8 trillion soums ($3.6 billion) from January through April 2024. This figure is 32.3 percent more compared to the same period last year (34.6 trillion soums, or $2.7 billion in January–April 2023).
