TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 20. Uzbekneftegaz (Uzbekistan’s oil and gas company) has saved 25.2 million kWh of electricity from January through May 2024, Trend reports.
According to Uzbekneftegaz, 54 measures aimed at saving energy resources have been developed at the system enterprises of the company.
In particular, the company installed a solar photovoltaic station with a capacity of 10.35 MW, a solar water heating installation (solar collectors) with a capacity of 45,000 liters, 62 units of frequency control devices, 2 sets of energy-saving pumps, and 5,400 units of energy-saving lamps during this period.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan produced 27.9 billion kWh of electricity from January through April 2024. The production volume has increased by 7.3 percent compared to the same period last year (26 billion kWh in January–April 2023).
At the same time, in April 2024, the country’s electricity production amounted to 7.9 billion kWh (20 billion kWh in January–March 2024).
Furthermore, electric current trade turnover in Uzbekistan amounted to $111.6 million from January through April 2024. This figure has increased by 36.1 percent compared to the same period last year ($82 million).
