ANTALYA, Türkiye, April 12. The development of transport infrastructure between the Turkic states is of key importance for further strengthening the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majilis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan Sodiq Safoyev said during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Trend reports.
He emphasized that currently it's important to develop not only the transport infrastructure, but also to improve the relationship in other areas, such as communications and information technology.
Safoyev noted that the OTS was initially created on the basis of common cultural values, vision and principles. He also drew attention to the importance of historical continuity for the formation of an effective system of work of the OTS.
According to him, in the context of the rapid development of the industrial revolution, it's necessary to be prepared for transformations in society, the economy and thinking.
The official added that parliamentarians should be more active in the process of creating a legal basis for cooperation between countries, including in the field of transport and other areas, such as the harmonization of national laws and the ratification of agreements.
