Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend D.Khatinoglu / Iran has restored its consulate in the Iraqi city Suleymani. Over two days Iran also restored its consulates in Arbil and Suleymani cities of Iraq, IRNA news agency reported.
Tehran has consulates in Basra, Kerbala. Arbil and Suleymani. The US armed forces, entering Suleymani, detained 5 Iranian diplomats and computers and documents belonging to the consulates on 11 January 2007. The United States takes these people in custody with accusations of 'assisting to terrorism'.
There are three Iraqi consulates in Iraq.
