World Bank allocates $330m to improve Iranian city structure

Deputy Minister of Housing and Urban Development Mohammad-Hussein Ajdari stated on Monday in Tabriz that the World Bank has agreed to allocate $330 million in a 12 year plan to improve city structure in Iran.

The Mehr News Agency quoted Ajdari saying that the main goal behind improvement of the city and the housing sector revision plans is to improve the living conditions of impoverished people and also help boost the housing sector.

He added that the first stage of the plan is five years and it will be implemented in five provincial capitals. 

Ajdari, who is also the director of Urban Improvement and the Housing Sector Revision Plan of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, pointed out that Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Zahedan, Tabriz and Bandar Abbas are going to be the five pilot cities of the plan.
