Crude steel production in Iran in the four-month period ending July 22 surpassed 3.686 million tons, showing a nine percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Fars News Agency quoted an Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) report as saying that in the month of Tir (June 21- July 22) an overall volume of 882,000 tons and 672,000 tons of crude steel and steel products were produced, showing 15 percent and 2 percent compared to last year.
IMIDRO comprises eight major companies and some 55 operational subsidiaries active in steel, aluminum, copper, cement, and mineral exploitation.
