Iranian scientist Shahram Amiri is not an employee of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and has nothing to do with it, AEOI Head Ali Akbar Salehi was quoted as saying by the Iranian Fars news agency.
"I do not have any information why Amiri is considered as a nuclear scientist," he said. "Amiri was never a member of the Atomic Energy Organization. We did not talk about it until this moment to avoid causing unnecessary talk, but now I declare openly that I do not know who Amiri is and that he has nothing to do with our organization. "
Iran accused the United States in the disappearance of a technology university researcher "rumored" to be involved in Tehran's nuclear program.
"We have found documents that prove U.S. interference in the disappearance of the Iranian pilgrim Shahram Amiri in Saudi Arabia," Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said earlier.
