A criminal case was launched on the director general of the Asr-e Iran news website, Iran's Fars news agency reported with reference to the Tehran Prosecutor Office.
Asr-e Iran is accused of insulting the country's officials, the report said. A criminal case was initiated on a complaint from the prosecutor and was sent to one of the divisions of the Tehran court.
Earlier Tehran Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dovlatabadi warned those who insulted Iran's senior officials saying that serious measures will be taken towards these people.
