Iran gets 20th gold in Asian Games
Jasem Vishgahi of Iran has won the gold medal at the men's -84 kg karate, earning the country's 20th gold medal in the 2010 Asian Games, Press TV reported.
The Iranian athlete defeated his Japanese rival in the final on Friday.
Earlier in the day, Samira Malekipour beat Yulanda Asmuruf of Indonesia, winning the bronze medal at the women's -68 kg karate match held in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.
In the +84 kilogram category, Iran's karate practitioner Zabihollah Pourshib could gain another gold medal for Iran on Wednesday.
Iran is placed fourth with a total of 55 medals, including 20 gold, 11 silver, and 24 bronze medals, behind China, South Korea and Japan.
