Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Chief Ali Akbar Salehi said on Thursday that the country is to boost protective measures for scientists and experts, ISNA reported.

His remarks came following recent twin bomb attacks in Tehran which killed an Iranian academic Majid Shahriari and wounded another university professor Fereidoun Abbasi.

"We have been pursuing serious protective measures for hundreds of our scientists and experts since last year and based on the recent decision, we are to increase protection measures multiple-fold and take other steps as well," Salehi told ISNA.

"Dr Shahriari was not alone at the time of the attack, he was under protection, but devil ways employed by enemies cannot be predicted."

"Dr Shahriari did not used to live in his own home and he was under protection somewhere else, but the terrorist attack came in twinkling of an eye," Salehi continued.

"The enemy has found that Iran's nuclear work is advancing considerably and has turned into a symbol of power for Iranian nation. It makes efforts to withhold Iranian nation from the power, but they made a big mistake."
