Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Turkey on Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported.
Ahmadinejad will attend the summit meeting of Economic Cooperation Organization, or ECO, to take place in Istanbul on Thursday.
Heads of state and government of the ECO member countries, representatives of international bodies as well as officials from guest countries are set to participate in the meeting which will discuss several agreements and regional cooperation projects.
ECO was co-founded by Turkey, Iran and Pakistan in 1985 in a bid to develop economic, technical and cultural cooperation between member countries. In 1992, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan joined the organization.
