Commander: Iran fully monitoring enemy's military moves in region

A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced that Iranian armed forces are closely monitoring even the minor military moves made by the enemies in the region, and said enemies' military bases are within the reach of Iran's missile systems, FNA reported.

"We enjoy full supremacy over the enemies and we find out any minor change happening along our coasts," Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said.

Iranian forces are well informed of the enemy moves, when their warships and cruisers are on alert, or when their crews put on life jackets and get ready to launch their boats, we are informed of their moves, the commander reiterated.

"Thousands of crews that are living in these carriers and they carry around 80 warplanes, and this is like a base which is within the range of our missiles," Hajizadeh stated, adding, "They are dominated by us completely."

He added that US aircraft carriers was once considered as a relying point and an advantage for the US ...but now they are considered as a soft point and a threat to the US military, since the carriers and all the troops and military tools, weapons and planes aboard them are an easy target for Iranian missiles.

Earlier, a senior advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution had warned of Iran's crushing response to any enemy action against the country, saying that Tehran would target all enemy bases if it comes under attack.

Iran's long-range missiles are capable of targeting all the enemies' military bases, Brigadier General Yahya Rahim-Safavi said late in September.

"You would sustain heavy casualties outnumbering as many as thousands on the first week of Iran attack, if any," Safavi stressed.

Iran has warned that in case of an attack by either the US or Israel, it will target 32 American bases in the Middle East and close the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The Strait of Hormuz, the entrance to the strategic Persian Gulf waterway, is a major oil shipping route. A major part of world's energy supply passes through the waterway.

The IRGC is responsible for the security of the Persian Gulf. In 2008, Rahim Safavi declared that the responsibility of the Persian Gulf defense had been handed to the IRGC.

In August, the IRGC launched tens of its missile-launching speedboats in the Persian Gulf.

The speedboats in Zolfaqar, Tareq, Ashoura and Zoljanah classes were launched in a ceremony attended by IRGC Navy Commander Admiral Fadavi and a number of other high-ranking officials.

The Islamic Republic has mass-produced a large number of speed-boats with rocket- launchers and other sophisticated military equipment which are able to strike a heavy blow at any foreign warship if the country comes under attack.

Also the IRGC has earlier announced that it is ready to deploy its submarines and combat boats to intercept vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
