Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad insists that the nation remains determined to continue its nuclear path as it marks the 32nd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Press TV reported.
"The Iranian nation will continue its way and it does not need you [world powers]," President Ahmadinejad told tens of thousands of demonstrators at Azadi Square on Friday.
"Iran is now the most independent and dignified nation," he said. "Iran's revolution was a great event in moving towards summits of perfection."
"Iran does not need world powers to complete its nuclear program," the Iranian president reiterated, telling the Western countries to adopt a coordination policy instead of confrontation policy.
The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed regime of former dictator Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in 1979, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.
Despite rain and snow in the capital city of Tehran, people have heavily participated in the mass rally to mark the victory of the Islamic Revolution 32 years ago.
This year's rallies were held in 850 Iranian cities as well as some 400 small towns and villages.
A total of 1,100 domestic and foreign reporters cover the epic presence of people of Tehran at the ceremony.
The masses of demonstrators also carried placards in support of the popular uprising of Egyptian and Tunisian nations.
Every year Iranians mark the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, which begins with the anniversary date of return of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini to Iran on February 1.
February 1 marks the beginning of a 10-day celebrations (the 10-Day Dawn), which culminate on February 11 -- the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
