Iranian President's Aide: Iran to strengthen relations with neighboring countries

Tehran 's strategic policy is to strengthen its relations with neighboring countries, including Kuwait, a senior aide to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Ali Akbar Javanfekr said, Press TV reported with the reference to Kuwait News Agency.

"Kuwait is a neighboring and friendly country, and we have a lot of common ground with this country in various areas," he said.

"Kuwait looks at international relations from a new perspective, and we hope it can play a constructive role in regional and international arenas in light of this positive and constructive view," Janvanfekr said.

He underlined the two sides have what it takes to upgrade reciprocal ties to the highest level.

He said the Iranian president visited Kuwait when Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah took power as Kuwaiti emir to congratulate him.

"This move shows Iran attaches great importance to its relations with Kuwait," the presidential aide highlighted.

Javanfekr also said exchanging delegations between the two countries at different levels can be instrumental in boosting mutual relations.
