Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi heading a delegation departed for Iraq on Wednesday morning, IRNA reported.
During his two day visit, Salehi will negotiate ways for fostering mutual ties and the latest regional developments with top Iraqi officials.
The Iranian foreign minister visited Qatar, Oman and the UAE last week.
After the fall of Saddam Hossein's regime, Iran and Iraq enjoy cordial relations witnessing a significant growth in the recent years.
