Iran non-oil GDP growth hits 4.3%

Iran 's GDP growth (excluding the oil sector) reached 4.3 percent in the year 1388 (March 2009-March 2010), the central bank deputy governor announced here on Tuesday-MNA reports.

Hossein Ghazavi added that the GDP growth figure was around 3.5 percent including the oil sector. He expressed the hope that GDP growth would increase in the year ended March 2011.

He added that in the year ended March 2009, the growth of agriculture sector contracted to -11.3%. In the oil sector, the growth fell to -2% due to cutting oil production in accordance with OPEC quotas. But, the growth of industry sector and service sector rose to 4.6% and 2%, repectively, Ghazavi added.
