Iran's Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi said Tuesday that directing Syria towards a civil war is on the West agenda to survive the Israel, IRNA reported.
The envoy made the remarks at a conference in Beirut focusing on support for Syria and rejecting foreign interference.
In his speech, Roknabadi said the Iranian nation and leadership support all oppressed nations throughout the globe, stressing that Iran is also against any foreign meddling in Syria's internal affairs.
He added that assissting Syria to foil the US-Zionist conspiracies is a priority for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Beirut conference was attended by 300 religious and political figures from Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, India, Morocco, Yemen, Tunisia, South Africa, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, UK, the Netherlands and Spain.
