Mohammad Reza Tall, convicted of sale and transport of large quantities of drugs, was executed in Rasht in Iran this morning, Iranian FARS news agency reported.
Only in November, 11 people convicted of trafficking drugs were executed in Adilabad Prison in the Iranian city of Shiraz.
The UN and Amnesty International have repeatedly demanded from Iran to stop executions. Human rights activists state that the number of executions in Iran is more than the official statistics.
At present, the number of those arrested on charges of drug trafficking and sentenced to death hits 300 people in Iran, Iranian MEHR news agency reported.
