The Iranian parliament is conducting a closed meeting on the upcoming parliamentary elections in the country, ILNA reported.

High ranking officials of the Interior Ministry are also reported to be present at the meeting. The private meeting is scheduled to discuss possible questions prior to the elections, and solve other related issues.

Earlier, the date for parliamentary candidates for parliamentary elections in Iran was announced. It will start on Dec. 24, and last for 7 days, according to the report released by the Election Headquarters of Iran.

Parliamentary elections in Iran are scheduled for March 2, 2012. Elections in Iran are held under the control of the Interior Ministry and the Council of Guardians.
