More than 7.24 million tons of goods were transited through Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2011), the deputy roads and urban development minister stated.
Sahriyar Afandizadeh told the IRNA news agency that 6.58 million tons of goods, equalling 91 per cent of the total, were transited via the road network.
Fuel, construction materials, foodstuff and cotton were the main transited goods, he said.
