Iran plans to shoot a documentary series entitled "Wall Street", producer Mohammad Ali Farsi said, Iranian Mehr news agency reported.

"Wall Street" is a documentary series about the "Occupy Wall Street" movement. A protest movement which began September 17, 2011 in Zuccotti Park, located in New York City's Wall Street financial district, initiated by the Canadian activist group Adbusters. The protests are against social and economic inequality, high unemployment, greed, as well as corruption, and the undue influence of corporations - particularly from the financial services sector - on government.

The protesters' slogan "We are the 99%" refers to the growing income and wealth inequality in the U.S. between the wealthiest 1% and the rest of the population. The protests in New York City have sparked similar Occupy protests and movements around the world.

"The film is now in pre-production, and it will begin production in about 10 days," Farsi told Mehr. "We will have one U.S. director and two more documentary filmmakers from Iran to work on the film. Each director will shoot his own episode of the series."

"I see "Wall Street" as a documentary film about people's movement," Farsi added.

He also said that there is another project getting read to take off, another documentary about religion in Europe and the United States.
