The nearly 25.6 million tons of iron ore produced by Iran in the last 11 months is three percent more than its production last year, the Islamic Republic News Agency reports.
In the month from Jan. 21 to Feb. 20, Iran produced almost 1.4 million tons of iron ore.
The government and private sector steel producers have manufactured 14.2 million tons of steel products so far this year, the IRNA reported on March 12.
Steel production for the first 10 months of this year (Iran's solar year ends on March 20) has increased by 7.5 percent from the same period of last year.
Raw steel production has totaled almost 1.3 million tons so far this year.
