Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that Iranian-Russian relations are strategic, Fars News Agency reported.
"We are two powerful neighbors of the Caspian region and there are great opportunities to boost relations between Iran and Russia," he said.
Russia intends to take more effective and strong position in international community regarding Iran and Russia's common approach towards most regional and international issues, and we welcome Russia's active role and intensive cooperation in regional and international conflicts.
"Iran and Russia certainly can be effectively involved in governing the world," he said.
Mehmanparast added that Iran considers the prospective of Iran-Russia relations as very "shining" and expects boosting and expanding relations.
