Syria needs to import 900,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) annually and the country hopes to provide its much needed LPG from Iran, said the director general of the Syrian oil refining and distribution company.
Nazih Jouhara added that in order to remove weaknesses and overcome deficiencies in the field of petrochemicals, Syria prefers to use Iranian expertise, the IRNA News Agency reported.
Syria also needs to import two million tons of gasoline and diesel per year, he said, adding that finalising talks for investment by Iran in a refinery project in Syria is amongst the objectives of his travels.
