Mostafa Najjar, the Iranian interior minister will travel to Turkmenistan on Thursday to participate at a meeting on Muslim-World Refugees, IRNA reported.

Najjar's meeting with the President of Turkmenistan Qurbanqulu Berdimukhammedov is also planned.

Foreign ministers from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), are gathering in Turkmenistan's capital Ashgabat on May 10-11 intending to discuss the growing refugee problem affecting member states. Representatives of more than 500 countries and international organisations will participate at the meeting.

The conference, entitled 'Refugees in the Muslim World' and co-organised by the United Nations refugee agency UNHCR, is expected to focus on the Middle East, where unrest in Syria has forced over 20,000 people to flee to Turkey.
