Iran imported tractors worth over $640 million in the past calendar year, which ended on March 19, while exported domestically-made tractors worth at just around $100 million, the ISNA News Agency said quoting reports of the Customs Administration.
China was the main exporter of tractors to Iran, accounting for $255 million of the total exports. European countries, including Sweden and the Netherlands ranked the next with $213 million and $20 million exports, respectively.
Exports of tractor to Iran increased by 75 percent last year compared to the year earlier, while imports declined by 62 percent, the report added.
Meanwhile, Iraq and Afghanistan were the main importers of Iranian-made tractors. The two countries imported $50 million and $40 million worth of tractors, respectively.
